My Opinion :

The Witches of East End is, I am pretty sure, Melissa'S debut novel in adult. Although... I didn't feel like the book was that adult. I thought the book had the same 'feel' to it as the Blue Bloods series (which I have read, only the seventh and last book (which isn't released yet) to read!). I felt like the book was a... Young Adult book more than an Adult read... but, eh, that,'s my opinion!

Witches of East End is about two sisters, Freya and Ingrid, and their mother, Joanna. They are witches. And they have many problems. And, since the law that witches can't do any magic anymore (law created by the Council)... they have felt empty, but now, Freya has started again... and so have Ingrid and Joanna. Freya is about to marry Bran...  but his brother just seems soooooo... irresistible. Ingrid'S library and job is about to get tossed away,, and she really likes this man... and Joanna meets this 4 years old and she feels like he's her son. She loves him.

Witches of East End is a story that'S kinda set in the Blue Bloods world, although you don't have to read Blue Bloods before reading this book, because you won't 'hear' a lot from the Blue Bloods characters.  Blue Bloods is a great series, and Witches of East End was a really good read!

The writing is pretty good! The book is not fast-paced, nor slow-paced, although at first I had a hard time getting into it, after getting into it, I just really liked it and enjoyed myself a whole lot.

I really like books about witches; I guess it'S just because I, too, want to have cool powers! (I mean, who wouldn't? And... what power would you like to have? I'd love mind reading... or flying... or invisibility... or just cool spells!)

Ingrid would have to be my favorite sisters, but Freya is close to the first place. I especially like Ingrid because she'S a librarian and loves books (I mean... um um...I love books too!), and she'S just really serious, and sometimes too much, which just seems so cool, and yet funny!

Freya was okay, although I would have liked better that she talked to Bran, her fiancée, about her seeing his brother sometimes!

Joanna was okay, although I liked her better with the four years old :D

Bran... I liked him okay. And Killian... too. S

I liked it!

  1. Wow, I didn't even know this book existed! I've kind of gone off her Blue Bloods books as I didn't enjoy the last two but she is a brilliant writer so I'll definitely be checking this one out now. Great review, Cathee!
