Shaman, Friend, Enemy : Mini Review

My Opinion :
Shaman, Friend, Enemy (Olivia Lawson, Techno-Shaman, #2)

Shaman, Healer, Heretic, the previous book to Shaman, Friend, Enemy was a pretty good book that I enjoyed, and this book was the same for me. I have pretty much the same opinion, so that is why this review will be pretty short.

In Shaman, Friend, Enemy, the story begins about a month (or more) after the first book ended. But now, business of Olivia is way better, since she has gotten a lot of publicity all over the media. But now, a dark shaman named Dominique has set her mind to kill Olivia so that she can be richer.

Shaman, Friend, Enemy is written in a quicker pace than the first book, which I liked, since it was so easy to get through.

Olivia makes me really angry. Like,  a lot. To me, she is REALLY whiny at times (which I odn't like), but other times she's great and smart and kick-ass. Also... she makes weird decisions.

I don't really like the covers... :S

Legacy of Tril : Soulbound : Book Review

Soulbound

Title : Soulbound
Series :  Legacy of Tril #1
Author : Heather Brewer
Pages : 304
Release Date : June 19th 2012
Publisher : Dial / Penguin Canada
Format : ARC
Source :
**An ARC was provided from Penguin Canada in exchange of an honest review**

My Opinion :

Soulbound is one of the best books I have read in 2012.

I loved Soulbound so much. I was immersed in the story every time I reopened the book to continue into the adventurous adventures of Kaya.

Soulbound is action-packed and doesn't let your mind alone until you have finished it. And even then; you just want the sequel (I NEEEEEED THE SEQUEL NOW!)!

Soulbound is about Kaya, a young Healer that lives in Kessler with her two Barron (fighter) parents. Two Barrons together is illegal. So, that'S why she lives in an Unskilled village. But then. she gets this letter that she has to go Shadow Academy to train as a Healer. Of course, she doesn't want to, but she does so to protect her parents. She finds out that the the Barron she was Soulbound to is dead, and that now she has to be Bound to a total stranger. But... maybe she'll like him. But... what if something else got in the way?

The writing is not fast-paced, nor slow-paced. It just goes perfectly with the story and flows easily and beautifully.

Kaya is a strong lead female character. The 'Rose-of-Vampire-Academy-badassy' kind of strong. And I loved her! And... I'm really wondering why she is that strong, if she is a Healer.... maybe we'll know in the next book :D

I am DEFINITELY Team Darius. He is hot as hell, and my type of guy ;D He feels kind of like Dimitri in Vampire Academy :D

Fans of Vampire Academy will LOVE Soulbound!

Author Bio :

Heather BrewerHeather Brewer was not your typical teen growing up. She wore black, danced under full moons and devoured every book in sight.
She hasn’t changed much.

Today, Heather can be found writing in her funky, black Happy Bunny jammie pants, dancing under the full moon, devouring every book in sight, and attending Renaissance Festivals in costume (and in character).

When Heather's not writing, dressing up, dancing and reading, she's answering email, which she LOVES to get. You can email Heather by using the contact form on the right. But before you do, make sure you check the FAQ to see if your question has been answered there. Unfortunately, Heather cannot respond to all emails, as doing so would take up valuable writing time (and we wouldn't want that, would we?), but you can always reach her by commenting on her blog or her Facebook, or by following her on Twitter.

Shaman Healer Heretic : Book Review

Shaman, Healer, Heretic

Click for the Summary!

Title : Shaman Healer Heretic
Series :  Olivia Lawson, Techno Shaman #1
Author : M. Terry Green
Pages : 328
Release Date : Jan 19th 2011
Publisher : Self-pub
Format : Paperback
Source :
**A review copy was provided by the author in exchange oh an honest review**

My Opinion :

I had actually never heard of Shaman Healer Heretic when the author contacted, and I was quite happy to pick the book up, since the summary was really intriguing and different sounding from any book I had read. Even though I didn't really like the cover, the summary was just too awesome, and so I accepted the offer :D

I dug into the book not long after receiving it, since it just seemed good. It totally surprised me; in a pretty good way!

Shaman Healer Heretic is about shamans.... well, techno-shamans. And, you don't see that a lot in books, certainly not in YA. So, this was a refreshing and cool idea :D

Shaman Healer Heretic is about Livvy, or Olivia, a techno-shaman (a techno shaman is like a shaman, except he/she uses technology things instead of drugs to get their work done...), and a bit about SK, a friend of hers. And, there'S a lot going into the 'shaman' world; there's an evil spirit, the Tiamat, that has awakened and is trying to conquer the real world. And Livvy has to try and find a way to defeat him. But, then there are many betrayals.

The writing is really detailed in this book; you can tell a lot from those details, which I sometimes love/like, but now, it just felt like there was too much, and I just skipped some details :S

here was something missing for me with this book; romance. There (almost) wasn't any. And, you know how I love me some romance ;D

Livvy was a great and strong character, and I really liked her a lot. I would have liked for her to have a boyfriend... :S I like romance.

SK was awesome. I seriously loved him! He was just so... cool and great and fun to read about. I would love some SK Point of View scenes ;D

And Joel... that... ugh. I can't say anything more, for spoilers, but let's just say he'S not my favorite charatacter.

This book was pretty good! You should consider buying it!

This is Not a Test : Book Review

This Is Not a Test

Title : This is Not a Test
Series :  -
Author : Courtney Summers
Pages : 320
Release Date : June 19th 2012
Publisher : St. Martin's Griffin / Raincoast Books
Format : ARC
Source :
**An ARC was provided from Raincoast Books in exchange of an honest review**

My Opinion :

This was my first book from Courtney Summers, and even though I had heard so many great things about her books, but I was still reluctant. I don't know why. I was SO stupid back then. Okay, maybe not stupid, but still. I guess I just like to be with my comfortable authors!

This is Not a Test is a heart-pounding novel that will leave you breathless.

" This is not a test. Listen closely. This is not a test."
This is Not a Test is the story of Sloane, a girl who has lost her sister because she ran away, and Sloane is the daughter of a father that beats her up. But now, even if her world ended when her sister ran away, the whole world has ended because of a zombie apocalypse. Now, she's stuck with five other teenagers in her school, trying to survive. The problem is, she doesn't want to survive.

This book is powerful. Parents, or anyone, who beats people up for whatever reason is bad.

I don't really like zombie books, and I guess that just... I didn't really want to read it a t first, but so many people seemed to love it, that I decided to finally read it! Just so you know... the zombie part really isn't big in this book. I'd say it's 5% zombie. The book really isn't mainoly about zombie! I'm telling you! I mean, I know I was doutbfull when people said there almost weren't anything about zombies, but, REALLY! Don't be stubborn like me!

The book isn't exactly fast-paced, but you just can't stop turning the pages! I was sad everytime I had to stop reading, and I really had to force myself to stop. I just wanted to devour it and not stop until I finished it! The writing is just so good and sucks you in!

The main character is really attaching, and yet you want to let her alone, because she... seems like she doesn't like people.

This is Not a Test is an incredible book that will suck you in from the start

WWW(W) Wednesday (14)

Alright, so I decided to mix one of my favorite memes (Waiting on Wednesday) and a new and cool-looking meme called WWW Wednesday. It's basically three questions(always the same), but I'll be adding mine : what are you waiting for? So,
