My Opinion :


Krista McGee brings up a fun and romantic debut novel.


It's been a long time since I have read an eBook, mainly because I have so many physical books to read and review, but I really wanted to read First Date, and so I put the eGalley on my Nook and read it in less than a day (that'S really surprising, because I normally have a hard time reading an eBook fast... probably because I can't bring my Nook to school :S).

First Date is a great contemporary you don't want to miss!

First Date is the story of Addy Davidson, a Christian from Tampa Florida. There's this new show called The Book of Love, and some school in the U.S. can send one girl to the show, where one lucky girl will go to prom with the president's son, Jonathon (what a weird way to write that name!) Jackson. And, Addy gets chosen, even if she doesn't want to be chosen. When she gets there, she learns a thing or two (more, actually :D) about Jonathon. She was prejudiced about him. A lot. And... what if something she didn't plan happens?

First Date was suck a quick and joyous read! I found myself smiling the whole time.


As I said, I read this book in less than a day, mainly because it was so fun and easy to read. The writing was really fast-paced (which was just what the book needed!) and I loved that, because it made it so much fun to read it. The writing may not be anything special, but it is comfortable to read.

Jonathon Jackson... oh god how I loved him! He's just soooooooo... cute and shy and... *giggles*. I loved him so much! I thought he was going to be that spoiled brat, jerk, a$$... but he wasn't (see! I was prejudiced too!).

Addy was really nice. She was a great main character, and even though there were loads of mean girls treating her badly, she didn't lose herself.

Kara was a great friend to Addy too! She was just the friend Addy needed! She could have just joined the mean girls, but she didn't.

The characters are well developed and awesome (and some were bitches!)!

The cover really represents well the story. The girls in dresses are the bitches, and Addy, the normal girl, isn't in a dress. And, of course, the boy is Jonathon *giggles*

My Opinion :


Incarnate is Jodi Meadows' remarkable debut novel. (Includes a pretty cover, great writing, an awesome story line and well-developped characters, all in one package! Comment and follow now and you'll get a free virtual hug! Oh, you still get one for reading my review *hugs* But, if you want another, comment :D)

Jodi Meadows' voice is strong. Her book was slow-paced (I like any pace, actually, but it needs to match with the book), and yet, it was all it take for me to relax and enjoy it thoroughly. It was VERY unique... I don't think I ever read a book like that.

In Incarnate, with a dystopian setting, we meet Ana; the child of Li and Menehem. She's a nosoul (from what her mother, Li, believes and has taught her) and a newsoul (to Sam, who she meets after walking away from her mother). She meets Sam while she's trying to run from Sylphs; they are things that burn you (ouch!). And, she decides she'd like it better to drown than die burned (I guess everyone has their preference, even about death *shrugs*). But, Sam saves her. At first, she thinks he wants to use her, or something like that, since that'S what she has ever known; she hasn't been in contact with civilization in 18 years (or her whole life), because she wasn't Ciana's soul. Ciana was the one who died and never came back. She's the reason Ana was born.

I absolutely loved loved LOVED Ana. She may have been mistrustful, but it made her a hard and strong female character; and those are the bests of them all. Even though she didn't feel like she had a place in The Heart (which is the ONLY city we know).

I also really loved Sam; he may have hid some things from Ana, I thought it didn't feel like betrayal. I thought it was great of him to do that.

Stef was a bit annoying. Like the jealous ex-girlfriend of someone who's trying to be nice to you so they can get their boyfriend back. But, aside from that, I liked her.

Did you know you can reincarnate with a different gender... Sam did, once (or twice, thrice, etc.), but every time I read that, I could only picture a guy in a dress and a wig (not a pretty picture, right? *cringes*)

It may have been slow-paced, but it's what made the book wonderful. I could just relax, and enjoy it at my own pace.

Two hot guys in one book? I'm in!


I mean it! That's what I thought while reading the summary. I mean, who doesn't love a hot guy. And, imagine two hot guys? That'S like, paradise of something!

Frannie is a Catholic girl. Even though she stopped believing in God after the incident that killed her brother and twin. So, she got kicked out of catholic school and got sent to a normal high school.Then, Luc, a (hot) demon (demons are always hot, just so you know) comes to tag her soul for hell. And to do so, he has to make her do a sin. But, Frannie isn't just any girl; she'S special. Not special as if 'crazy-in-the-head' , but special as if 'hell-and-heaven-are-trying-to-get-to-her-first-because-of-her-powers' kind of special. Yup. And then, the other hot guy comes in. He's an Angel, and is named Gabe. Frannie likes loves the two (but I prefer hot Luc *giggles*)

I especially loved Luc, and I didn't like that Frannie wouldn't choose him! I mean, demons are hot as hell (pun intended. Well, kinda). Luc was just... badass. He loved Frannie, which made him less like a demon and more like a human.

Frannie was a great main character, aside from the fact that she couldn't recognize the real Luc *sigh*, and also that she couldn't figure out who she liked best between the two hot boys (I mean, isn't it obvious; Luc. But, Frannie, you can always take Gabe and I'll take Luc!)

I didn't really like Frannie's friends, though. I mean, I didn't adore them, nor hated. I though they were okay.

And Gabe. Gabe was just... too angely (you know what I mean). It'S just that I always love any badass boy (only in books, though), then goody-two-shoes boys.

The writing was really well-paced; not too fast and not too slow, which, I like. Well, I like any pace, actually; it just has to go with the story. I also really LOVED the way the author wrote the story; I really liked the vocabulary, too.

The thing about the cover is that I don't think Frannie, in  my mind, looks like the girl on the cover. But Gabe does look a bit like that, though!

I will be reading Original Sin soon, so look out for a review of that too!

My Opinion


172 Hours on The Moon was a creepy - yet powerful - debut.


172 Hours on The Moon is Johan Harstad's (which is an unpronounceable name if you ask me) debut novel in the US. It's actually a of  Darlah - 172 timer på månen, which got out in 2008 in Germany!

172 Hours on The Moon  was soooo creepy, I had trouble sleeping at night while reading the book (no, really, every noise I heard, I'd imagine an unbelievable scenario, that, most of the time, was scary), but, the author actually made the story believable!

The story is about NASA who wants people to get more interested in the moon, and so, they decided to hold a 'lottery' for teenager from 14 to 18 years old; three teenagers would be picked to go on the moon with other professional astronauts  (right, like that makes going on the moon less scary. Right...). But, what those teenagers don't know is why the moon travelings have stopped; it's because it seemed like there were people on the moon. Clones of humans, hiding silently there, waiting to kill you at any chance they had.

The plot gave me chills just by reading the summary (read it; it really does sound scary, right?). And, I dove in the book knowing I'd be scared, because I'm a scaredy cat (no, a scaredy squirrel). I mean, oh god. I can't tell you how much this book was scary, although it was REALLY entertaining.

I liked the character a lot. I... I was really mad at the author (and I don't wanna spoil anything, so, that, sall, but it involves the boy in the story)

Also, I thought the ending was a little confusing.

And, so yeah; the book was creepy, but good (I really can't tell you how much it was creepy)

Taste is an awesome-looking book :D I would suggest you try it when it comes out (it comes out a little later this year) :D And so, first you have the blurb/summary (which looks freaking awesome), then you have the trailer, and then, an excerpt that got me wanting to read the book :D

Taste Excerpt

I mentally stomped on the intimidation their perfection brought into my mind and said, “Excuse me.”

The group froze, startled by my words. The girls had their brows raised and the boys stopped mid-speech, mouths agape. They stared at me with eyes the shade of onyx stones.

I smiled and gave them a little wave.

The boy a step ahead of the rest recovered first. His stunning features went from shocked surprise to intense interest. He reminded me of a hawk eyeing its prey. I gulped.

“A Day Student,” he said, his eyes insolent and excited.

Something about the way he said “Day Student” made my stomach flip. “Excuse me?”

They snickered. The boys looked at each other while the girls continued to stare, muffling their laughter by delicate hands. I seemed to be the butt of some joke. 

“You broke the rule.” The boy’s grin turned predatory.

The students formed a loose semi-circle in front of me. My gaze darted from face to face. Hunger filled their eyes. The image of lions about to chase down a gazelle came to mind. I mentally shook my head. I was in the mountains not the Serengeti for crying out loud.

I took a small step back and cleared my throat. “Can any of you give me a ride back to the dorms?”

The boy wagged his forefinger like a metronome. “Ah, that’s unfortunate for you.”

One of the girls pinched the bridge of her nose. “Eli, you can’t possibly—”

“It’s forbidden, Eli,” another boy interrupted, pronouncing the word “forbidden” like a curse.

The nervous murmur at the pit of my stomach grew louder. Six against one. Not good odds. Instinct told me to cut my losses and run. Bad enough I faced expulsion, now it seemed like weird, beautiful people who’d suddenly appeared on campus wanted to beat me up. No, scratch that. Judging from the way they studied me, beating me up wouldn’t satisfy them. Something more primal prowled behind their looks.

I definitely wasn’t going down without a fight. Years of self-defense and hand-to-hand combat classes had me prepared. While other children from rich and important families got bodyguards, I got defense training. But I think my father meant for my skills to go up against potential kidnappers, not against other students who may or may not be crazy. Oh God! Maybe I stepped into a parallel universe or something when I reentered Barinkoff.
